Lower-income seniors age 60+ can get their taxes done for free by NexusBC volunteers through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. This free service is provided by trained volunteers and operates year-round by appointment, as well as through a tax clinic during the regular tax season (March and April). If you haven’t filed taxes in several years, we can file back taxes as well.

To qualify, your maximum income must be less than

  • Single Person – up to $35,000 | Couple – up to $45,000 combined

This is a drop-off and pick-up service by appointment only.

What to bring:

  • All T4 slips
  • Last year’s tax return or Notice of Assessment (if available)
  • Renters: your 2025 rental address, landlord’s name, total rent paid for the year, and number of months rented
  • Medical expenses: an annual tax receipt from your pharmacy or total of all medical expenses

Please note that we do not prepare returns for the following (no exceptions):

  • Deceased persons
  • Bankrupt individuals
  • Self-employed individuals
  • Individuals who have foreign property or foreign income
  • Individuals who report capital gains or losses
  • Individuals who report interest income of more than $1,200
  • Individuals who report employment expenses, business or rental income and expenses
