Community Gardens
Community gardening is a valuable recreation activity that can contribute to food security, community development, environmental awareness, positive social interaction and community education.
NexusBC Community Resource Centre manages three community gardens in Vernon containing plots available to members of the community to rent for seasonal use. Current locations include:
- East Hill Community Garden, 900 Shantz Road
- West Vernon Community Garden, 3602 30 Avenue
- sncəcmałqtn Community Garden, 4122 East Vernon Road (pronounced “sin-che-che-my-hook-in”)
Please note that these gardens are not open to the public. And any items planted within garden plots are the property of the plot owners.
